1) Overall quaint location, gardens and building 2) The Food was horrible...no flavor, imagination, and DEFINITELY nothing like you see on their website. Many things on their menu were not available. 3). We purchased a premium room at the top of the tower: a). Hottest room there as the underside of the tin roof is exposed. The Air conditioning was not powerful enough to cool the immensely hot room. Use of the CLACKY fan to aid this did not help. b). Lack of clothing storage..no dresser, or closet c). Mismatched used/old/ broken furniture was not what I expected for this type of room. College dorm rooms look better d). Pillows were uncomfy (hard/crunchy) e). Mattress was comfy f). Windows were dirty. Disappointing, since it is the one with the ocean view g). The Tv/Airconditioner area had wires hanging all over the place h). The bathroom was disgusting. EXTREME hard water stains on ALL the glass surfaces and water handles made everything look dirty. The shower floor had hard water stains near the drain. The instant hot water heater was barely hanging on the wall, with electric wires exposed and you could see through the hole to the outside. Broken toilet seat. Nothing to place toiletries on. 1 bathroom window would not open. NO HOT WATER!!!!!!

Struggled to find it luckily we made the 3pm ferry otherwise we would have struggled in the dark - we were meant to have a bungalow with sea view but another family of 4 ended up with it as they had obviously messed up bookings ! We had a bit of food my partner sent it back to cook a bit more but still couldn’t eat it ! So 2 dishes I had pasta 2 beers and 2 waters it was like $75 I explained we had a very early start from Puerto Vallarta in Mexico - up at 3am - 2 flights and a bumpy ride from San Jose - so we went to bed at 7pm - a party of diners were excited and quite loud but at 9pm the music started - karaoke or something - dreadful country & western ! Singing happy birthday - would have been polite to mention ! Not impressed

We stayed here & are still here! The staff are absolutely brilliant & can’t do enough for us. Our chef Randall is superb & if you want fresh food cooked beautifully then come to their Cactus restaurant & be spoilt! If you are looking for peace & quiet in a jungle setting, this couldn’t be better. Thank you Carolina for making sure that all the things we wanted to do, were made possible with your help! Our stay has been unforgettable.

Beautiful room at the top of the stone tower with a stunning view of the ocean. We stayed when there were few other guests and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. The pool was super clean and a lovely break from the warm temps. Staff was beyond friendly and helpful. They facilitated a trustworthy taxi driver and boat tours. A tasty breakfast was included and was true Costa Rican fare. This location does not have a sandy beach within walking distance, but the Tambor beach was only a few minutes drive. Under new ownership now with a great Canadian couple taking over. Lots of renovations.

We stayed here in March 22 - originally planned to stay 4 nights but left after 2 (apparently this often happens) If you want seclusion and inflated prices ($6 for a small beer) and want to drive everywhere then this is the place for you. Breakfast was lovely, and hotel is beautiful to look at - but no information was give about anything- like breakfast times, how to find the beach etc. All outside lights switched off at 9.30 regardless of if anyone was still sat outside- and as we were sole guests - when the staff left at 9.30pm we were left completely alone in the hotel. Water in our superior room was sporadic and no hot or even warm water was available. Also no English spoken - which isn't a complaint but something to be aware of. If you do visit please feed the lovely little black cat.

Esta muy apartado de todo, pero si estas en la zona y buscas donde quedarte es una buena opción. La habitación deja un poco de desear, pocos enchufes y mobiliario, pero es “curioso”. Desayuno bueno, zona piscina muy bien. A unos 20 min se puede ir a nada a la playa
